Press Release - Seneca County Sheriff's Deputies receive Narcan kits
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
06-24-2014 Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that his office has received a supply of Naloxone Overdose Rescue Kits and is in the process of training all uniformed and plain clothes deputies in its proper use.
"We have put the necessary policies and protocols in place and are in the process of training everyone which we hope to have completed by the end of the week. All of our deputies and investigators will now have an Naloxone Overdose Rescue Kit available to them for use to reverse the effects of an opiate overdose. We have seen a proliferation of heroin sales and use in Seneca County and have responded to a number of opiate overdoses. Now, we will have the tools to reverse those overdose effects and save lives", said Sheriff Stenberg.
The cost of the Naloxone Overdose Rescue Kits and the training associated with that are being covered by a grant through the NYS Attorney General's Office.
