Press Release - suspicious package at Outlet Mall

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that on 4-9-14 Sheriff's Deputies investigated a suspicious package at the Waterloo Premium Outlet Mall at 655 Rt 318 Waterloo , in the Town of Junius. Deputies report that they received a call at approx 5:27pm of a suspicious package that had been dropped in the parking lot of the Outlet Mall. Deputies along with Outlet Mall security evacuated the east side (phase one ) section of the mall , and restricted access to that area of the parking lot. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Junius Fire and the Seneca County Emergency management director Charlie McCann. Sheriff Stenberg reports that Deputies had that section of the Mall closed for approx 4 hours. The area was searched by the Seneca County K-9 explosive detector unit. Seneca County Deputies were assisted by members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Bomb Squad, who responded to the scene and inspected the package and deemed it safe.
