The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 03/12/2023 at 12:36 hours deputies were dispatched to 655 State Route 318 suite #14 Nike Factory Store for the report of a theft of clothing. Upon arrival deputies began searching for the suspect. The suspect was observed getting into a vehicle which then fled from deputies Westbound on State Route 318 in the Town of Junius. Deputies were able to catch up to the vehicle on State Route 318 in the Town of Phelps, where it was attempting to get onto the Thruway. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and identified the suspect as Sharron L. Anderson age 56, of Syracuse. Several clothing items from various stores were located in the vehicle next to where Anderson was sitting. The driver and other passenger were released from the scene of the traffic stop. Anderson is charged with 2 counts of petit larceny a misdemeanor, possession of burglar’s tools a misdemeanor, and obstructing governmental administration a misdemeanor. Anderson was released to the custody of the New York State Police for an active warrant for her arrest. Anderson is to reappear in the Town of Junius Court on 4/20/2023 at 7:00PM to answer the charges.
