House Fire T/ Junius

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 07/29/19 at approx. 5 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 684 Whiskey Hill Rd for a house fire.  Deputies report that residents  Debbra Dean-Singer 43 , and Shane Furman 29  and their four children had returned home after doing errands for a couple of hours  to find smoke rolling out of the front door of the single story double wide home.  They attempted to put the fire out themselves , but it was quickly extinguished upon arrival of the Fire Department .  The residents were not injured .  A Magee firefighter was transported from the scene to GGH by North Seneca ambulance for heat exhaustion. The firefighter was released a short time later.  The fire was contained to the living room, but the home sustained moderate smoke damage. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross until the house can be repaired, the home is insured.  Junius fire department was assisted Magee ,Seneca Falls, Oaks Corners, Canoga and Waterloo. Two Magee firefighters were able to rescue the family’s two dogs, cat and a rabbit from the house. The animals were treated on scene then turned over Beverly animal shelter who came out to assist. During the fire a family pet bird, rabbit and multiple pet spiders did not survive. Sheriff’s Deputies state the Seneca County Fire Investigation team responded and  the cause of the fire is undetermined and the investigation is continuing.
