The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on July 15th, 2020, at about 7:30am, Investigators charged Brian S. Cuatt, age 29, of Wolcott, NY, on a charge of Grand Larceny in the third degree. Cuatt was taken into custody on the evening of July 14th on a felony arrest warrant related to the grand larceny charge by Sheriff’s Deputies and Seneca Falls Police Officers after they located him operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Seneca Falls. After he was taken into custody, Cuatt was found to be in possession of a quantity of suboxone and was operating the motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. Subsequently, Cuatt was further charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree, and a Warrant for Violation of Parole. The original grand larceny charge stems from incidents on the nights of May 28th and May 29th, 2020, where Cuatt allegedly stole four jet skis and two trailers valued at approximately $30,000 from a business in the Town of Fayette. Sheriff’s Investigators were able to locate and recover all stolen property related to the case in various locations in Wayne and Cayuga Counties. Throughout the course of the investigation and ultimate arrest of Cuatt, Sheriff’s Investigators were assisted by the following agencies: Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca Falls Police Department, Auburn Police Department, New York State Police, and New York State Parole. Sheriff’s Investigators also report that further charges are pending against individuals who illegally possessed the stolen property and the case remains under investigation.
Cuatt was arraigned in the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Court and was remanded without bail. Cuatt is to reappear in the Town of Fayette Court on July 17, 2020 at 12pm.
