  10. I need my fingerprints taken for either a pistol permit application or for some other reason.
Can I have this done at the Sheriff’s Office?

Yes! (PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY) The Seneca County Sheriff's Office takes electronic fingerprints for certain applications (pistol permits and bingo license only)

Effective January 1, 2010, all fingerprint submissions will be done electronically by a new system called “Civil Scan”, which electronically submits your fingerprints to the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services.

*****Please note***** - no inked or rolled fingerprints will be accepted by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services after December 21, 2009.

As of January 1, 2010, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) will only accept electronic fingerprint submissions.  DCJS has contracted with L-1 Identity Solutions to provide electronic fingerprinting services at various locations throughout New York State.  For further information or to schedule an appointment, access L-1's website at www.L1enrollment.com or call their toll free number (877) 472-6915.  L-1 also has a TTY/TTD line for the hearing impaired, (877) 219-1099.

Due to this change, the Seneca County Sheriff's Office will no longer conduct fingerprinting for other civil purposes after December 21, 2009, the last regularly scheduled fingerprinting session.  Civil fingerprints include adoption/guardianship, job applications and various license applications which require fingerprinting.  Our procedures for obtaining criminal fingerprints for those who have been arrested will remain the same.

If you require fingerprints for a Pistol Permit OR Bingo License electronic fingerprinting is available by our Corrections staff on the following days and times - Monday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.,  at the Seneca County Correctional Law Enforcement Center, 6150 State Route 96, Romulus, New York 14541.

Persons requiring fingerprints for those two specific categories will be required to submit a money order payable to the “Seneca County Sheriff” in the amount of $94.25 for pistol permits or $75.00 for Bingo Licensee.
