Within the Criminal Investigations Division is a specialized Narcotics Division. The Narcotics Division is responsible for conducting investigations into the manufacture, possession and sale of illegal drugs in Seneca County.
The unit was reorganized in August 2011and consists of one full time investigator who is supported by members of the Criminal Investigations and uniformed Road Patrol Divisions. Since its reorganization in 2011, the SCSO Narcotics Division has posted impressive results. Over 120 criminal narcotics related cases have been opened, 100 of which have been closed by investigation or arrest of more than 50 persons. Sixteen criminal search warrants have been executed in which drugs and illegal weapons have been seized.
The SCSO Narcotics investigator is an active member of drug task forces operated by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and New York State Police, Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (NYSP CNET). Locally, the SCSO narcotics unit works closely with all Seneca County law enforcement agencies.
