The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 24, 2020 at 12:30 AM, Deputies arrested Samuel J Eckert, 31, of 941 Waterloo-Geneva Rd Lot 32 in the Town of Waterloo on Numerous charges after an investigation of a male with a gun threatening to kill people, had crashed a vehicle near his residence after being involved in two separate domestic incidents. It is alleged Eckert was involved in a domestic dispute with a Town of Seneca Falls resident while in a moving vehicle and later with a Town of Waterloo resident inside the home in front of an 11 year old child. Eckert was later located in a vehicle after he had crashed into a Town of Waterloo residence causing extensive damage and fled the scene. Eckert was found to be in possession of controlled substances and a firearm. Sheriff’s Deputies charged Eckert with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 2nd Degree, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Two Counts Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, Two Counts Harassment in the 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree. Eckert was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. After arraignment in CAP court, due to the Bail Reform Act, Eckert was released on his own recognizance and is to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date. Deputies report that the investigation is continuing .
