On 7/8/2021 at about 1:30 PM Investigators arrested Brittany M. Neagele, 24, of Geneva NY on one count of Robbery 3rd(class D Felony), two counts of Grand Larceny 4th(Class E Felony) and one count of Petit Larceny. Its alleged that on 5/16/2021 Neagele was at a residence in the Town of Waterloo where a struggle ensued and Neagele removed a wallet containing cash and credit cards from the victim before fleeing the scene. Neagele was taken into custody by Seneca Co. Road Patrol and transported to the LEC where she is being held pending arraignment in CAP Court.

3 Car PI MVA Town of Ovid
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 30, 2021 at around 3:10 PM, Deputies responded to the area of State Route 414 and West Wycoff Road in the Town of Ovid for a three car motor vehicle accident with injuries. The operators of the vehicles involved were Annja I. Aho, 54 of 2347 East Seneca Street Lodi, Zechariah E. Champion 18 , of 2385 Parmenter Road Lodi, and Samuel Butts IV 52,of 17 Troy Street in Seneca Falls. Sheriff’s Deputies report while heading south on State Route 414, a uninvolved vehicle braked suddenly to miss an animal that came out into the roadway, causing Aho to brake suddenly, Champion was unable to stop and struck the back of Aho’s vehicle . Butts was also unable to stop and struck the rear of the Champion vehicle. Annja Aho was transported by Hector Ambulance to Cayuga Medical center to be treated for back and neck pain . Zechariah Champion was transported by South Seneca Ambulance also to Cayuga Medical Center for a complaint of a head injury. Butts was uninjured . All vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Assisting at the accident scene was South Seneca Ambulance, Hector Ambulance, the Lodi Fire Department, and the Ovid Fire Department.

Crim poss of Controlled Sub / AUO Town of Covert
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 25, 2021 at 8:50 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Robert Heroux age 46 of 5085 Terrel Rd, Trumansburg NY , after a traffic stop in the Town of Covert. Deputies report Heroux was stopped for speeding Northbound on State Route 96. During the Traffic Stop, Heroux was found to have a suspended license and a Warrant out of Tompkins County for AUO . Upon further investigation, Deputies located a controlled substance in his vehicle. Heroux was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree , and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle 3rd , and was released on an appearance ticket to appear on 07/05/2021 in the Town of Covert Court. Heroux was transported to Tompkins County to face further court action there .

Structure fire Town of Junius
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on 6/27/21 at 1:33 PM Deputies and Emergency Services responded to 334 Rte 318, the North Seneca Sportsman Club, in the Town of Junius for a structure fire. Upon arrival first responders located a pole barn garage with heavy smoke conditions. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and determined the fire to be accidental. The structure sustained heavy damages to the south, west and east sides as well as the roof. No one was inside the structure although one dog perished in the blaze. The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team and Codes responded to the scene for further investigation. Deputies report several Departments responded for mutual aid including: Junius Fire, The Seneca County Fire Coordinator, Border City fire, Waterloo Fire, Fayette fire, North Seneca Ambulance, Lyons Fire and Seneca County Code Enforcement.

Warrant arrests Poss controlled substance , manufacturing of Meth /Town of Ovid
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 16, 2021 at 3:30 PM, Deputies arrested Benjamin R. Nichols age 28 of 2868 Munson Road in Ovid, NY on a Warrant From Seneca County Court on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, , and Unlawful Manufacturing of Methamphetamine , stemming from a case in Dec 2019 in the Town of Ovid in which Nichols failed to appear. Nichols was arraigned at CAP court and released . Nichols also had a Bench Warrant out of the Town of Ovid for violating a pre-trial release agreement on the charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd; charges that stem from a traffic stop in March 2020 in which Nichols was driving with a suspended license and was in possession of methamphetamine in the Town of Ovid. Nichols was also arraigned at CAP court on the Ovid Bench Warrant and was committed on $5 bail . After bail was paid Nichols was turned over to Schuyler County for unrelated charges .
Nichols will appear in Ovid Town Court and Seneca County Court at a later date.

Bench warrant arrest Varick Town Court
The Seneca County Sheriff’s reports that on June 16, 2021 at 10:00 PM, Deputies arrested John D. Russell, 21 of Elmira, NY, on a Bench Warrant from Varick Town Court for failing to appear on the original charges of Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. Deputies report Russell was involved in an altercation in Dec 2017 and failed to appear on the charges . Russell was transported to the Seneca County correctional facility and arraigned in CAP court and released on pre-trial and is to appear in Varick court at a later date.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 12, 2021, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Shawn Standbrook age 36 of 19 N Park St Clyde NY , on an Arrest Warrant issued from the Seneca County Family Court for a Family Court Violation. Deputies report Standbrook was arrested at the Ontario County Jail, where Standbrook was held on another Warrant. Standbrook was then transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center for CAP Court and was released to appear in Family Court at a later date.

Grand larceny
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office report that on 6/11/2021 at about 4pm that Investigators arrested Anthony M. McGuigan,20, of 3675 Rt 96 in Shortsville for 3 counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree- credit card and one count of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree- motor vehicle. It is reported by Investigators that on 6/9/2021 at about 3:30pm McGuigan stole a motor vehicle from a residence in the Town of Waterloo and drove said vehicle to Fredonia NY where he was apprehended by the Fredonia Police Department. The Fredonia Police Department and the Seneca Co Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations and Road Patrol Divisions worked collectively on the case. In the vehicle was also the victims wallet containing 3 credit cards. After arraignment in Fredonia, McGuigan was transported back to Seneca County. McGuigan was arraigned in the Seneca Co. CAP Court where he was released and is to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court at an unknown date.
Warrant arrest – Domestic incident Criminal Contempt 1st / Menacing Town of Varick
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 10, 2021, at about 2pm Deputies arrested Michael R. McLean, 41, of 55 W Bayard street in Seneca Falls on a arrest warrant. It is alleged that McLean engaged in a domestic incident on June 5, 2021, in the Town of Varick. The Town of Varick resident was also the protected party in an Order of Protection against McLean. It is alleged that during the domestic dispute, McLean punched the victim in the mouth and threatened the victim with a knife. McLean was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, Menacing in the 2nd degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd degree, and Harassment in the 2nd degree. McLean was arraigned at CAP court and held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail. McLean is also held on a parole detainer.

Domestic incident arrest Town of Romulus
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 06/09/2021, Deputies arrested Joshua D. Crisp 25, of 1908 Seneca St in the Town of Romulus, for Criminal Mischief 4th, a class A misdemeanor. The arrest stems from a 911 call dispatchers received at approximately 01:46 AM, stating Crisp was damaging property inside the residence at 1908 Seneca St. Upon Deputies’ arrival and completing an investigation it was found that Crisp had intentionally damaged property in the residence during a domestic incident. Crisp was arraigned at CAP court and released on pre-trial , and will appear later in Romulus Town Court on the charge.
