Aggravated Unlicensed Operation

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 in the Town of Romulus at around 10:22pm, Deputies arrested 32 year old Matthew T. Bell of 51 West Elizabeth Street, Waterloo, New York. The arrest stemmed from a New York State Vehicle and Traffic violation that deputies observed while on routine patrol. Upon further investigation, a records check did reveal that Bell’s New York State driving privileges were suspended six times on three dates. Bell was placed under arrest and charged with Crossing a Road Hazard Marking and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd. Bell was released on an appearance ticket and is set to appear in the Town of Romulus Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 16th 2022, Deputies arrested Kyle A. Davis 29 of Waterloo N.Y. on an active Arrest Warrant. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on December 15th around 9:00am at a residence in the Town of Fayette. While at the residence, Sheriff’s Deputies discovered that Davis attempted to conceal and hide a Sawed –off Shotgun under a pile of clothing. Due to a previous incident and arrest from December 14th 2022, Davis was ordered by a Court to surrender all firearms per the Victims Order of Protection. It’s alleged that Davis altered the Radical .12 Gauge Model P-3 Tactical shotgun by cutting off the barrel below the NY State required length in addition to cutting off the buttstock. Davis has been charged with the following : Criminal Possession of a Firearm- Class E Felony and two different counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Both Class D Felonies). Davis was arraigned at 7:00pm on December 16th and was ROR’d. Davis is to Re-appear at the Fayette Town Court on Jan 10th 2023 at 7:00pm.

Harassment 2nd

On 12/14/22 at approx. 1926hrs Deputies arrested Kyle A Davis,29 of Waterloo for Harassment in the 2nd degree. The arrest stems from an incident where deputies were called to a residence in Waterloo. Upon investigation it was discovered that Davis made threats towards the victim of killing them. Davis also had a warrant out of Seneca Falls police department. Davis was placed into custody and transported to the Seneca county Jail where he was turned over to corrections to await arraignment at CAP.

DWI

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 4, 2022 at around 7:25 p.m., Deputies responded to the area of Reed Road and Hecker Road in the Town of Waterloo following the report of an erratic driver. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Silver Mercury Marquis sedan which was reported to be the vehicle that was being operated erratically. A roadside investigation conducted by Deputies yielded that the operator of the vehicle, 45-year-old Corey L. Richardson of Trumansburg, New York, was Driving While Intoxicated. Richardson was subsequently arrested as a result of the investigation for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving a Motor Vehicle with .08 of 1% of Alcohol, and Failing to Keep Right. The DWI related offenses were Felony level offenses based on Richardson’s prior DWI related convictions. Richardson was transported to the Seneca County Jail where he was processed and released on an Appearance Ticket. Richardson will be expected to appear before the Waterloo Town Court in January to answer for the charges.

Fire

On 11/22/2022 around the time of 1729 hours, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Interlaken, Ovid, and Lodi fire departments responded to the area of Lodi Covert Towline road and State route 96A for the report of a combine fire. Owner of the combine and land, John Swanson III, 73 safely exited the machine with no injuries. Responding units had to travel several hundred yards off the roadway to reach the combine and extinguish the fire. The damages are estimated to be 15,000 dollars. The cause of the fire appeared to have stemmed from the hydraulic housing.

Petit Larceny

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on November 21, 2022 at around 5:40 p.m., Deputies arrested 30 year old Stefanie M. Johns of Montezuma, NY on the charge of Petit Larceny when she turned herself in at the Law Enforcement Center in Romulus. The arrest stemmed from a Sheriff’s Office investigation into a theft that occurred on November 6, 2022 at a Town of Junius business. Two clothing items were allegedly stolen from the store by Johns at around 3:30 a.m. on the day of the incident. Johns was handed over to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for processing. Johns was then released on an appearance ticket. Johns will be expected to appear before the Junius Town Court in January to answer for the charges against her.

DWI

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on November 10, 2022 at around 8:56 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a White 2007 Jeep Cherokee in the Town of Ovid for not having any functioning tail lamps. A roadside investigation conducted by Deputies determined that the operator of the vehicle, 29 year old Carla Morton of Ovid, was intoxicated. Morton was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Romulus where she was processed by the Seneca County Jail and released on an Appearance Ticket. The charges against Morton consist of Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle while having a B.A.C. greater than 0.08%, and operating a vehicle with insufficient tail lamps. Morton will be expected to appear before the Ovid Town Court at a later date to answer for the charges.

Domestic

The Seneca County Sheriff’s office reports that on November 9th, 2022 at 5:45 PM, Seneca County Deputies arrested Keith L. Champion, Age 59, of 8913 State Route 414 Lodi, NY at his residence. Champion was charged with Driving while intoxicated, Reckless Endangerment 2nd, and Resisting Arrest all misdemeanors as well as Harassment 2nd a violation.

Deputies report that the arrest stems from a domestic incident where it is alleged that Champion struck the victim before leaving the residence. Champion then returned to the residence while Deputies were actively investigating the incident. Champion then fled from Deputies and attempted hit a deputies vehicle with his own. After coming to a stop Champion then actively resisted deputies from taking him into custody. Champion was held for arraignment at CAP Court to reappear in the Town of Lodi at a later date.


DWI-Drugs

The Seneca County Sheriff’s office reports that on November 8th, 2022, at 08:28 PM, Seneca County Deputies arrested Michael A Delario , Age 37, of 281 Main Street Freeville, NY , on State Route 96 in the Town of Fayette. Delario was charged with Driving while intoxicated by Drugs a misdemeanor, as well as moving from lane unsafely, and crossing a road hazard marking both traffic violations.

Deputies report that the arrest stems from a one car property damage accident where Delario’s vehicle exited the road way and struck a ditch causing damage to the vehicle. Delario was released on appearance tickets and is to appear before the Town of Fayette Court on January 10th 2023 to answer the charges.


Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Damion W. Brown 23 of Romulus NY on November 5th for Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor in the First Degree a class A Misdemeanor. The arrest stems from a report that on the 31st of October 2022 around 6:20pm, Brown had sold alcohol to a 14 year old minor while working as cashier for a local gas station. Brown was arrested and released on appearance tickets. Brown is to appear at the Covert Town Court on November 17th 2022 at 10:00am to answer the charge.
