The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on October 16, 2020 at 6:02 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jesus M Velez , 26, of 60 Skylane Dr. Rochester NY, on State Route 414 in the Town of Tyre. Deputies report Velez was the cause of a traffic complaint on the New York State Thruway. A commuter had called about Velez’s reckless driving on the Thruway. Deputies located Velez parked just off of Exit 41 in the town of Tyre. Upon further investigation Velez was found to be under the influence of drugs. Deputies also found a weapon inside Velez’s vehicle, along with Suboxone, and other drug paraphernalia. Velez was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st a Felony, Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs a Misdemeanor, Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance 7th a Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree a D Felony. Velez was turned over to the Seneca County Jail and arraigned in CAP Court and committed on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. After further investigation on 10/22/20 Deputies additionally charged Velez with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and 2 counts of criminally possessing drug paraphernalia , he was issued appearance tickets on those charges and is to appear in Tyre Town Court .
