The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on 06/20/2019 at 07:34am Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a three car personal injury crash that occurred on State Rt. 89 in the Town of Ovid. Upon investigating the accident Deputies learned that Melissa Toyryla age 41 of 46 Tompkins St. Spencer N.Y, and a second vehicle driven by Brooke Morsch age 23 of 63 Elizabeth Way of Landing NJ , had been southbound on Rt 89 and were stopped in traffic due to flooded road conditions when they were struck from behind by a third vehicle driven by Hope E. Baird age 64 of 3451 Potter Rd in the Town of Ovid . Baird and Morsch were checked over and treated by ambulance personnel at the scene. Toyryla was transported to Geneva General Hospital for the complaint of neck pain by South Seneca Ambulance. All the vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene. Deputies report Baird was issued a Ticket for speed not reasonable and is to appear in the Town of Ovid Court at a later date and time.
